An easy recipe for a lazy Sunday morning. I have always loved muffins, the sweet ones in every possible flavour. This time, however, I wanted to try something different, ideal for a brunch or as a tasty snack: savoury muffins. Below the results.
Ingredients for 10 muffins:
250g “00” Flour
200ml of Milk
50g of unsalted butter
100g of ham (if sliced thick it’s better)
100g of cheese at your choice (I used Halloumi, just because I love it..a nice cheddar will do as well!)
50g of grated Parmesan (if possible do not buy the already grated one. Get a small piece and grate it yourself. You will notice the difference in taste!)
1 tbs of salt
1tbs or more (I actually don’t know, I alway try to guess for my recipes)
Use two different bowls: one for the dry ingredients (flour, salt, baking powder and add together the cheese, the diced ham and the Parmesan) and the other one for the milk, eggs and melted butter. After mixing the “wet” ingredients, add the ingredients of the two bowls together. Mix the ingredients gently.
Spread some butter in your muffin shaped baking tray and fill for 2/3 every hole. Pre-heat the oven at 180°C and cook for 15/20 minutes (or more if needed).
